Ungu Pen is an independent Singapore-based publishing house focused on creative, innovative, culturally rooted, and digitally enhanced stories for children and young readers up to 16 years old. We publish picture books, middle-grade fiction, and anthologies in Malay and English, often incorporating Augmented Reality, animation, and music. Our stories promote empathy, identity, and imagination, reflecting Southeast Asian experiences while remaining globally relatable. We champion minority voices, working with authors such as Maria Mahat, Rhaimie Wahap, Amanah Mustafi, Hassan Hasaa’ree Ali, Shahril Samri, Atikah Hakim, Idayu Hussain, and others. Ungu Pen aims to nurture a love for reading through meaningful, engaging, and interactive storytelling.
