Building Literary Bridges: Burmese Translation Rights Signing Ceremony

Building Literary Bridges: Burmese Translation Rights Signing Ceremony

The Singapore Book Publishers Association (SBPA) is pleased to share that Epigram Literary Foundation will be signing Burmese translation rights agreements with four Myanmar publishers — Moe Kaung Myay, Book Village, NDSP Book, and Mya Wutt Cho — at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2026.

The agreements will enable selected Singapore literary works to be translated and published in Burmese, expanding the reach of Singapore stories and strengthening literary and cultural exchange between Singapore and Myanmar. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to making quality literature accessible across languages and borders while creating new opportunities for authors, publishers, and readers in both countries.

The signing ceremony will be led by Aung Sanmon, Chairman of the Myanmar Publishers and Booksellers Association and Chief Executive Officer of NDSP Book, who will sign on behalf of NDSP Book and the three participating Myanmar publishing partners.

This initiative highlights the growing importance of translation rights in fostering regional publishing collaboration and bringing diverse voices and perspectives to new audiences across Southeast Asia.

The ceremony marks another milestone in strengthening publishing ties within the region and promoting the international exchange of literature through translation.
