WS Education is a children’s educational publisher focused on inspiring young minds through STEM, education and knowledge. It combines story-based learning with Singapore’s strong standards in Science, Mathematics and English to create engaging and accessible content for children.
Its publishing programme targets children aged 3–8 and 6–12, with a focus on two main areas: STEM education and Asian-themed stories. WS Education also publishes books covering mental wellness, financial literacy and other essential life skills, working closely with authors, illustrators and subject experts to develop its content.
Daniele Lee is a Senior Editor at WS Education. She has edited and managed production of titles such as the Pop! Lit for Kids and Science Champs series. Together with her team, WS Education has produced over 400 children’s books since 2020, including the bestselling World of Science and Pop! Lit for Kids series. WS Education has won the Singapore Book Award’s “Best Education” Award for five years, the inaugural “Best Graphic Novel” Award, and the “Best Young Person’s Non-Fiction” Award.
Ruth Wan-Lau is the author of the bestselling Timmy & Tammy series of children’s books, which has sold over 400,000 copies worldwide, and has been translated into Chinese and Malay. The Government of Singapore gave Timmy & Tammy books to all Singaporean babies born in 2015, the year Singapore celebrated 50 years of independence. The books were also gifted to Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana by the President of Singapore to commemorate the royal birth that same year. In 2025, the SG60 National Day Parade Executive Committee distributed copies of Timmy & Tammy books to all preschools in Singapore, in celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday.
Ruth is passionate about encouraging children to love reading. Having worked in public communications and as a writer, editor and publisher for 27 years, she has helped to develop some of Singapore’s most well-loved children’s book series, including The Diary of Amos Lee, Sherlock Sam, Danger Dan, and many more. She is currently the Publisher and Head of World Scientific (WS) Education. Together with her team, WS Education has produced over 400 children’s books since 2020, including the bestselling World of Science and Pop! Lit for Kids series.
